Independent work - Building the tunnel
We purchased materials from Bunnings warehouse: to build a life-size prototype of the Taranaki wharf tunnel.
Measured the width of the tunnel
We started off by estimating how high we wanted the prototype to be.
Build a frame out of conduit pipes.
Folding the frost cloth, we created a slide-in hole for the pipes to go in.
During that time, we didn't have access to a sewing machine, our only option was to use masking tape.
To keep the tunnel in place, we tied the bottom of each frame to the table legs using cable ties
No access to a 5meter ladder, we decided that the best way to prototype the projection onto the fabric was from the side.
Projection view from the inside we wanted to create an aquarium like experience.
